ABOUT ME
Finding a Deeper Meaning Expressive Arts Therapy
Hi, and welcome to my website. I work as an expressive therapist. I’m currently employed at Salish Kootenai College, located on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Northwest Montana. I obtained my doctorate in Expressive Therapies from Lesley University. I provide individual, group and community based creative arts experiences with many populations including Native American youth, Veterans, and community-based groups. I incorporate printmaking, collage, watercolor painting, screenprinting, and journaling techniques into my practice. I focus on fostering hope and wellness by encouraging participants to gain a deeper understanding of one’s ‘Sense of ‘Place’ through art-making and stories. A sense of place is one’s connection to P-people; L-Land; A-Ancestry; C-Culture; and one’s E-Experiences. I believe that creative art practices foster healing and wellbeing and most important art is both fun and nourishing.
